The school planning toolkit is designed to provide for "minimum standard" emergency plans for schools in Pennsylvania. The kit includes a two-part plan (Basic Plan and Checklists), a powerpoint presentation to use in introducing the planning process and a crisis planning guide published by the U.S. Department of Education.

Schools are invited to use this in the creation of their plans. However, those schools that have the opportunity to attend the PEMA "Multi-Hazard Safe Schools Course" offered through their county EMA and Intermediate Unit will get a much better understanding of the planning process and consequently a better end product.
